18th Annual Top O' the Day Tee-Off

For the 18th year, individuals came from near and far to honor water giants Russell Dushinske and Warren Jamison by participating in the Top O’ the Day Tee-Off at the CrossRoads Golf Course in Carrington. The scramble is hosted by the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District (Garrison Diversion) and the North Dakota Water Education Foundation.

Proceeds benefit the Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship Endowment in memory of the men and their distinguished service, dedicated leadership and lifelong devotion to water development in North Dakota. Four $1,500 scholarships are awarded each year to students attending a North Dakota college or university and whose families have taken an active role in state water resource management.

Thirty teams participated, with 119 golfers flooding the 18-hole course at noon, contending for top finishes and prizes on many holes. Generous sponsors filled the course with contests and promotional items. Golfers wrapped up their day with dinner and an awards ceremony at the CrossRoads clubhouse that recognized the first-, third- and 18th-place teams, as well as winners of contests featured at many of the holes. A score of 54 was the tournament best, sending teammates Ashley and Tyler Reisenauer and Sabrina and Arick Scherr home with first-place prizes.

“It’s hard to believe that we have had this golf tourney for 18 years! Guess it’s true that “time flies when you’re having fun,” Diane Jamison-Richards said. “Many thanks to EVERYONE who’s involved. We are grateful to all the planners, sponsors, golfers and workers that help to make this tourney a success.
